Set up gamification in Communities
Configure gamification for a Communities group from Portal and Groups > Communities > Groups by editing level names, adding rewards, reviewing leaderboard settings, and saving the group settings.
Open the group gamification settings
Open the group’s Gamification & Rewards settings before changing levels, rewards, or leaderboard behavior.
Go to Portal and Groups > Communities > Groups.
Log in to the group you want to configure.
Open Settings.
Open the Gamification & Rewards tab.
Customize levels and point settings
Edit the names of the predefined levels, but use the preset level count and point structure.
In Gamification & Rewards, edit the names of the levels to match your organization’s terminology.
Keep the level count within the maximum of 9 levels.
Review the preset point thresholds; the point structure cannot be changed.
Members reach levels at these point thresholds:

Add rewards
Add up to three offline reward entries when your organization wants to recognize participation outside the platform.
In Settings > Gamification & Rewards, open the Rewards section.
Add the reward entries as text.
Plan to manage and distribute the rewards offline.
Rewards cannot be linked to gamification levels. They are text entries, and the platform does not manage their distribution.
Added rewards appear in the Leaderboard tab in the group’s left navigation.
Enable and review the leaderboard
Review the leaderboard settings in Gamification & Rewards before saving the group configuration.
Open the leaderboard settings.
Enable the leaderboard settings you want to use.
Review the selected settings.
Save the gamification settings.
Understand how points, badges, and levels work
Members earn points when other members like their posts, comments, or replies; one like gives one point to the author.
Points: Points accumulate from likes on a member’s posts, comments, and replies, and points do not reset over time.
Badges: A badge is awarded when a member meets a predefined criterion or milestone.
Levels: A member’s level is shown by the profile badge, and members can see how many points they need to reach the next level.
Levels belong to the group where members earn them. A member who reaches a level in one group starts at level 1 after joining another group.
After a member reaches a level, the circular progress bar is complete for that level.
