Create polls in Community posts
Create a poll from a Community post to collect feedback in the feed, with 2 to 10 answer options, single- or multiple-answer voting, optional result visibility, and an optional end date and time.
Before you create a poll
Use the new Client Portal experience before creating a Community poll.
Open Portal and Groups.
Under Client Portal, select Try the new Client Portal if the new experience is not already enabled.
Select the checkbox, then select Enable for everyone to roll out the new experience to members.
Create and publish the poll
Create the poll inside the Community group where you want members to participate.
Open Communities and select Groups.
Select Login on the group where you want to create the poll.
Select Create a post.
Enter the post Title and Description.
Select Poll.
Select Add to enter the answer options. Add between 2 and 10 options, and keep each option to 100 characters or fewer.
Reorder or delete answer options as needed.
Turn on Allow multiple answers when members should be able to select more than one option. Leave it off for single-answer voting.
Turn Allow Members to See Results on or off to control whether members can see the poll results.
Set the poll date and time settings when the poll should have an end date and time.
Select Post to publish the poll.
What members see after publication
Members can vote in the published poll. When Allow Members to See Results is turned off, members can still vote but cannot see vote counts or live percentages in the poll.
When the poll reaches its end date, it is marked Closed and members can no longer vote.
Members can change their vote after voting and can be prompted to confirm before the change.
Update a published poll
The poll creator can edit a poll after publishing and add new answer options.
