Add voice notes to Community posts and comments
Community members can record a voice note or upload an audio file directly in a post or comment composer, and both play inline in the feed. Recorded voice notes and uploaded audio are available on web; mobile app support is coming soon.
Record or upload audio in a post
Recording happens inline in the composer, so you never leave the editor to capture a voice note.
Open the post composer (Create a post).
Click the mic button to start recording.
Use Record, Pause, Resume, and Cancel to control the recording before sending.
Optional: attach an audio file alongside images, videos, and other attachments. Multiple audio files can be attached to one post.
Click Post.
Record or upload audio in a comment
Open the post you want to comment on.
In the comment area (Add a comment), click the microphone icon to record a voice note, or attach an audio file.
Send the comment.
Play back audio in the feed
Voice notes and uploaded audio play inline in the feed. Recorded voice notes show a waveform view, while uploaded audio shows a timeline view. Choose playback speed of 1x, 1.5x, or 2x, and audio autoplays to the next track for continuous listening.
For the rest of the post and comment workflow, see Add Content to Communities. Voice notes in one-to-one chats are a separate workflow covered in Send voice notes in Community chats.
