Set up content moderation in Communities
Content moderation automatically holds Community posts and comments that match flagged keywords before they reach the feed, and gives admins a review queue to approve or remove them. Member-reported content is reviewed from the same area.
Set up keyword rules
Set up keyword rules under your community's Settings so posts and comments that match are held for review instead of publishing immediately.
Navigate to Settings and open Content Moderation.
In the Keywords tab, add the words, phrases, or domains you do not want in your community.
Select Add starter pack to load a suggested starter pack of common spam and scam phrases in one click.
Use the Try your rules tool to paste sample text and check whether it would be held, before anything goes live.
Matching is case-insensitive. Phrases are recommended over single words for precision.
Review flagged content
Flagged content waits in the Needs review tab until an admin decides.
Open the Needs review tab.
See which keyword triggered the flag and preview the full post.
Select Approve & publish or Remove.
Flagged content stays invisible to the rest of the community until an admin approves it. Authors still see their own pending post on their timeline with an In review status.
Notifications for flagged content
Admins are notified by email, in-app, and push alerts the moment something is flagged, so nothing slips through unnoticed.
Admin and owner posts are never held
Content from admins and owners is never held up for review. Moderation rules apply only to member-generated content.
Review member-reported content
Member-reported posts and comments surface in their own Reported by members tab. Admins can see who reported the content, review the full thread, and choose to Keep or Remove it.
For banning members and the member reporting workflow, see Ban members and review reported content in Communities.
