Use quick filters on dashboards
Use Quick Filters to filter custom widgets on a dashboard without changing the dashboard for other users; users with full or edit access can add them, and users with view access can use them.
Quick Filters currently work only with custom widgets that you created; they do not apply to the default General Widgets.
Add Quick Filters to a dashboard
Add Quick Filters when you want users to filter the dashboard's custom widgets from a shared Quick Filter bar.
Open the dashboard where you want to add Quick Filters.
Open Quick Filters from the top of the dashboard.
Click
+ Add Quick Filtersto open the available filters.Find the filters you want to add by using the search bar or browsing the filters organized by data source.
Select the filters by checking the boxes next to them, then click
Add.Review the selected filters and add descriptions when needed. Descriptions are visible to all users and explain the purpose of each filter.
Click
Applyto finalize the Quick Filter setup.
Quick Filters are configured separately for each dashboard. Only users with full or edit access can add them; users with view access can use configured filters but cannot modify them.
Use Quick Filters on a dashboard
Use configured Quick Filters from the Quick Filter bar to adjust your own view of the dashboard.
Open the dashboard where Quick Filters are configured.
Use the Quick Filter bar to select and apply a filter.
Adjust the filter properties to refine your view.
Review the widgets after applying the filter. Widgets update based on the filters you apply.
Quick Filters affect only widgets that use the same data source as the filter property. For example, a filter for the Tags property under the Contact data source affects only widgets that use the Contact data source.
Quick Filters apply only to the user who sets them, so they do not change other users' views. They are saved at the user level within the current browser session; when you revisit the dashboard in that same session, your last-selected filters remain applied.
Combine Quick Filters with widget-level filters
Quick Filters and widget-level filters combine with AND logic, so a Quick Filter adds to a widget-level filter instead of overriding it.
Use Quick Filters for broader filtering and widget-level filters for widget-specific needs. For example, a widget-level filter of Appointment status = Confirmed combined with a Quick Filter of Appointment status = Cancelled asks the widget to show appointments that are both Confirmed and Cancelled, which produces no data.
