Add custom fields to dashboard table widgets
Add custom fields to Contacts and Opportunities table widgets by selecting them in the widget's column selector. Adding fields changes how the widget displays data; it does not change the underlying data.
Which widgets support custom fields
Custom fields are available in the Contacts and Opportunities table widgets, and they work in both Dashboards and Custom Reports. Birthdate, for example, is a Contacts field you can select as a column. See Use table charts for dashboard widgets for more on table chart widgets.

Add custom fields to a table widget
Add fields to a table widget from the dashboard or custom report's edit mode.
Enter edit mode on the dashboard or custom report.
Select Add Widget.
Choose a Contacts or Opportunities table widget.
Open the column selector.
Select the custom fields to display.
Select Save.

Adding custom fields changes how the widget displays data and does not change the underlying data. You only need permission to edit the dashboard or report.
