Yes. The existing product-level behavior is still supported, and you can continue applying coupons to the full product.
Target coupons by product, price, and variant
A coupon can target an entire product, all prices or variants under a product, or only selected prices or variants. The same product, price, and variant filters are available on the Coupon Code Applied and Coupon Code Redeemed workflow triggers.
What you can target
When you create or edit a coupon, choose how broadly it applies in the product selection area. A coupon can apply to:
An entire product
All prices or variants under a product
Only selected prices
Only selected variants
The product selector uses a nested selection view: expand a product and choose how broadly or narrowly the coupon applies. Selecting the full product includes all current prices or variants and any future prices or variants added to that product later. One coupon can target multiple selected prices or variants within the same product.
Where targeting applies
Every supported checkout respects the updated targeting logic: Funnels, Forms, Ecommerce / Store, Payment Links, and Calendars.
When a coupon targets a specific price or variant, it applies only when that exact price or variant is selected at checkout. If the customer selects a different price or variant under the same product, the coupon does not apply.
Configure coupon targeting
Set targeting when you create a coupon, or open an existing coupon and update its product selection.
Open Payments > Coupons.
Click Create Coupon, or open an existing coupon and click Edit.
Enter the coupon code, discount type, and discount value.
In the product selection area, select the product the coupon should apply to.
Use the nested selection view to choose the full product, all prices or variants under the product, specific prices, or specific variants.
Save the coupon.
Test the coupon on the relevant Funnel, Form, Ecommerce page, Payment Link, or Calendar booking page.
For the full coupon creation flow and how to show the coupon field at checkout, see Enable coupons on a payment form. To set how long the discount applies to subscription payments, see the article Apply coupons to subscription payments.
Use targeting in workflow triggers
Refine the Coupon Code Applied and Coupon Code Redeemed triggers by product, price, and variant so an automation starts only for the discounted item you choose.
Open Automations > Workflows and add a coupon-based trigger. See Workflow triggers for the full trigger list.
In the trigger filters, select the product first.
Select the price or variant once the options become available.
The filters are dependent: price and variant options are only available after a product has been selected. Without a product selection, the price and variant filters are not available.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still apply a coupon to an entire product?
What happens if I select the full product during coupon setup?
Selecting the full product includes all current prices or variants under that product, as well as future prices or variants added later.
Can one coupon apply to multiple prices or variants within the same product?
Yes. Choose the specific prices or variants you want included when configuring the coupon.
Why is my coupon not applying to another variant of the same product?
The coupon only applies to the prices or variants selected in the coupon configuration. If a different variant was chosen at checkout and it was not included, the coupon will not apply.
Do existing subscriptions use the new coupon logic?
No. Existing subscriptions and past transactions continue using the older coupon logic for backward compatibility.
What happens if I edit an existing coupon?
Updated coupons use the new configuration logic for future transactions.
Why can't I see the price or variant filter in my workflow trigger?
Price and variant filters are dependent filters. Select a product first, and those options become available.
