Yes, as long as they share the same billing frequency.
Modify an existing subscription
You can change the products, quantities, and start or end dates on an existing subscription from Payments > Subscriptions, without cancelling and recreating it. Open the subscription, click Update, make your changes, review the preview, and confirm — the new settings apply from the next billing cycle.
What you can change
The Update option lets you add or remove products, adjust quantities, and edit the subscription's start or end date.
Add additional products to an existing subscription, provided they share the same billing frequency and currency.
Remove products so they no longer appear in future billing cycles.
Adjust the quantity of any product in the subscription, between 1 and 1000.
Change the start date when the subscription is scheduled but not yet active.
Update the end date for active subscriptions.
Preview all changes and updated totals before saving.
Prorating charges is not available yet, so the new total applies on the next charge date.
Before you start
You need access to Payments > Subscriptions and a subscription in scheduled, trialing, or active status. Subscriptions with cancelled, overdue, or unpaid status cannot be modified. Modification is supported for subscriptions paid through Stripe, Square, NMI, and Authorize.Net.
Open the Update screen
Both entry points lead to the same Update screen.
Open Payments > Subscriptions.
Select the subscription you want to modify.
Open the menu and click Update.
Alternatively, open the Subscription Details page for the subscription and click Update under Actions.
Make your changes
On the Update screen you can add, remove, or adjust products and edit dates.
To add a product, click the + button. Only products that match the subscription's billing frequency are available.
To remove a product, click the delete icon next to the product name.
To update quantities, adjust the number in the Quantity field.
To edit dates, select the Start Date (for scheduled subscriptions) or update the End Date (for active subscriptions).
Review and save
A preview shows the updated products, quantities, dates, and new total amounts before you save. Review the preview and confirm the changes to update the subscription.
The new settings apply from the next billing cycle onwards, and the charge date does not change. Past transactions remain unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
Can multiple products be added at once?
Where can modification history be found?
All changes are logged on the Subscription Details page for reference and auditing.
What happens if the added product has a trial period?
Trial periods are skipped when a product is added to, or its quantity is changed on, an ongoing active subscription. If the subscription is in trialing status, the new product also trials until the original subscription's trial date, and all charges apply on the next billing cycle after the trial ends.
What happens to setup fees when products change?
A newly added product's setup fee applies as a one-time charge on the next billing cycle, and increasing quantities on a product with a setup fee charges for the additional units on the next billing cycle. If the subscription is in trialing status, the new product's setup fee is charged on the next billing cycle, when the trial ends.
What happens if the subscription has an ongoing coupon?
If the coupon applies to the newly added product, it applies to that product from the next billing cycle. Changing the coupon on an existing subscription is not available yet.
How can a customer update their credit card on a subscription?
Share a secure payment update link from the subscription: open Payments > Subscriptions, select the subscription, click the three-dot menu, and choose Share Payment Update Link. Copy the link to send it yourself, or use the Email option to send it from the platform; the customer can then update their card details on their own. For managing stored cards, see Add and manage customer cards on file.
