No. Enabling sales receipts applies globally to all payments made through order forms, calendar bookings, and invoices. If you want selective receipt handling, disable automatic receipts and send receipts manually for specific payments.
Manage sales receipts for order form, calendar, and invoice payments
Automated Sales Receipts sends a confirmation email to your customer after every purchase — order form payments, calendar appointment booking payments, and invoice payments — and you control the feature from Payments > Settings > Receipts.
What Automated Sales Receipts does
When the feature is on, JourneyCARE emails a receipt to the customer automatically after each payment is successfully processed. The receipt email gives a comprehensive overview of the transaction, including the products purchased and the total amount paid.
Receipts are sent as downloadable PDF files attached to the email, delivered directly to the contact's email address.
Receipts cover primary, bump, and upsell purchases on 1-step and 2-step order forms, subscriptions, calendar appointment booking payments, and invoice payments.
Enable sales receipts
Turn the feature on or off from the Receipts settings under Payments.
Open Payments in the left-hand sidebar.
Click Settings at the top of the page.
Select the Receipts tab.
Turn on the Enable automatic sales receipts for payments toggle.
Click Save.
Customize sales receipts
Adjust the receipt title, receipt numbering, and the email template that carries the receipt.
Custom title: set a receipt title that aligns with your brand.
Receipt numbers: assign a prefix and an initial number to your receipts to track and manage transactions.
Email template: design the content of the receipt email in the email builder. You can build branded receipt templates using the custom values available in the email builder.
Turn off sales receipts
Disable the feature when you prefer to send receipts manually or through your payment processor instead.
Open Payments in the left-hand sidebar.
Click Settings at the top of the page.
Select the Receipts tab.
Switch the Enable automatic sales receipts for payments toggle to OFF.
Click Save.
Turning off the toggle applies globally to all transaction types captured through your connected payment gateways. Every successful payment is still recorded under the Transactions tab, so disabling the email does not affect your internal records.
Use webhook data after a purchase
The purchased webhook data is available to workflows through the Order Submitted trigger, so you can drive external automations from order information. The trigger itself is covered in the article Send confirmations after a purchase or order.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send receipts automatically for only certain types of payments?
Can sales receipts include custom fields or personalized messages?
No. Sales receipts do not support custom fields or personalized messages beyond standard transaction details. You can customize the email template associated with the receipt to include a general message or branding elements.
When are sales receipts sent?
Receipts are sent automatically as soon as the payment is successfully processed. Delivery delays can occur based on email delivery factors outside of JourneyCARE's control, such as the recipient's email server.
How can I verify a receipt was delivered?
Check the email reporting area for the receipt email's delivery status. Navigate to Marketing > Emails > Email Reporting, and filter by the recipient's email address or the receipt email's subject line. The dashboard shows whether the email was delivered, opened, or bounced.
Can I change a receipt number to a shorter or lower number?
No. Receipt numbers are automatically generated and must always be higher than the last one used. You can't edit, reset, or overwrite them.
If I turn off automatic receipts, will I still have a record of the payment?
Yes. Disabling the receipt email does not affect your internal records. Every successful payment is still recorded under the Transactions tab.
Does this setting apply to both one-time and recurring payments?
Yes. Once the toggle is off, JourneyCARE stops sending automated receipt emails for all transaction types captured through your connected payment gateways.
