For multiple contacts, import contacts from a CSV file instead of creating them one by one.
Create and manage contacts
Create, edit, and delete contact records from Contacts > Smart Lists to keep member, customer, sponsor, and prospect information organized and up to date. This article covers the full manual workflow: adding a new contact, updating an existing record, and removing a record that is no longer needed.
Create a contact
Add a new contact from the Contacts section. The Add Contact form opens as a slide-out sidebar, and the fields it shows depend on how your organization configured the form.
Go to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Click + Add Contact.
Enter the contact's details: first name, last name, email address, and phone number, plus any additional fields shown.
Click Customize Form if the available fields need to be changed. Admins control the form layout; anyone with access to the Contacts area can use the configured form. Learn how to customize the Add Contact form.
Review the information for accuracy.
Click Save to create the contact. Save & Add Another creates the contact and opens a blank form for the next entry.
The fields available when creating a contact can vary based on how the account is configured. For data the standard fields don't cover, create custom contact fields.
When someone fills out a form or survey, JourneyCARE automatically creates a contact record if no matching contact exists. See how forms update contact records.
Edit an existing contact
Open a contact record from the list and update its details whenever information changes, so communication, automation, and reporting work from current data.
Go to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Search for or select the contact you want to update.
Click the contact's name to open the Contact Record.
Edit the contact's details.
Click Save.
Delete a contact
Remove a contact from the list when the record is no longer needed. Confirm the record is not required before deleting, because deletion also removes data associated with the contact.
Go to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Select the contact using the checkbox to the left of the name.
Click Delete.
Type DELETE in the confirmation popup.
Click Delete to confirm.
Deleting a contact also removes its Conversations, Notes, Opportunities, Tasks, Appointments, Manual Actions, and Community Group Owners, and stops any active campaigns and workflows for that contact.
Deleted contacts can be restored within 60 days of deletion. See restore deleted contacts for the restore workflow and its exceptions.
