Open a contact overlay from Opportunities and Appointments
Click a contact from an Opportunity or Appointment to open the contact in an overlay on the current page, instead of being redirected to the full Contact Details page. The overlay is currently available in Opportunities and Appointments.
Open a contact from Opportunities
Review a linked contact without leaving the opportunity you are working on.
Open an Opportunity.
Click the contact name or the conversation icon.
Open a contact from Appointments
Open a contact directly from the appointment list.
Open the appointment list.
Click the contact name.
Choose a view
The overlay offers three views, and the layout you configure for the Contact Detail Page carries into the overlay.
Single column view — opens the left contact-details panel alongside Conversations and other right-panel features.
Two column view — opens an expanded layout with the contact-details panel and an extended Conversations view.
Go to contact page — opens the full Contact Details page. You can navigate back to the page you were working on.
To bypass the overlay and open the contact in a new tab, use the separate Open contact in new tab icon. For what appears inside the overlay, see Understanding the Contact Record.
