Managing custom fields in contact records
Custom fields store the information that matters most to your organization, from membership details and committee assignments to certifications and demographic information. They appear in the left panel of the Contact Record, and you can organize how they are displayed so administrators can find what they need quickly. You create fields from Settings > Custom Fields, then reorder them, group them into folders, and hide the ones that hold no data for a given contact.
Changes to the organization of custom fields affect all administrators using your JourneyCARE account.
Reorder custom fields
Change the order that fields appear within each section of the Contact Record to match how your staff works.
Go to Settings.
Select Custom Fields.
Open the Fields tab.
Drag and drop fields into the desired order.
Refresh the Contact Record to see the changes.
Organize field folders
Custom fields are grouped into folders, making large contact records easier to navigate. Rename folders or change their display order from the Folders tab.
Go to Settings.
Select Custom Fields.
Open the Folders tab.
Rename folders using the pencil icon.
Drag and drop folders to change their display order.
The Contact Record displays folders in the same order they are arranged here.
Search for a field
Use the Search Fields box at the top of the left panel to locate any custom field by name without scrolling through every folder. This is especially helpful for organizations with a large number of custom fields.
Hide empty fields
Many contacts will not have information stored in every field. Hide fields that do not contain data so only relevant information remains visible in the record.
Open a Contact Record.
Click the Filter icon at the top of the left panel.
Choose the option to hide empty fields.
Only fields that contain information for that contact remain visible, making the record easier to read.
