Create a new contact tag
Create a new tag from the Tags page in Settings. Once you create a tag, it is available throughout your account, including contact records, bulk actions, and workflow conditions.
You need access to your JourneyCARE account and permission to update settings.
Create the tag
Sign in to your JourneyCARE account, then click the gear icon labeled Settings in the left sidebar. If the sidebar is collapsed, expand it first so you can see the labels.
In Settings, open the Tags section. Any tags you have already created are listed here.
Click New Tag. A panel opens with a field for the tag name, which is the only required field.
Type the tag name, then click Create. The tag appears in the list immediately and can now be used on contacts, in conversations, in bulk actions, and as a workflow condition.
If the new tag does not appear in the list right away, refresh the page and check that you have permission to update settings.
Name tags consistently
The tag name is what you will search for later when adding the tag to contacts or using it in filters and triggers. Keep it short and descriptive, and use the same convention across your team, such as lowercase names with hyphens or underscores (for example, webinar-registered or vip-customer). Avoid special characters and overly long phrases, and do not create duplicate tags that mean the same thing.
To learn how tags are used once created, including categories, colors, and automation triggers, see Working with Contact Tags.
Create a tag on the fly
You can also create a tag on the spot in many places where tags are used, such as workflows, contact imports, and bulk actions. If you try to add a tag that does not exist yet, look for a + sign next to the tag field: clicking it creates the tag immediately, without a trip to Settings.
