Within 60 days of deletion only. Beyond that timeframe, the data is permanently deleted.
Restore deleted contacts
The Contacts Restore page is the safety net for retrieving contacts removed from JourneyCARE: it centralizes recently deleted records, within the 60-day retention window, so you can bring them back without re-importing. It covers single restores and bulk deletes — a bulk delete can also be reversed as a whole from the Bulk Actions page.
What you need to know before restoring
When restored, contacts are reinstated with their associated data such as opportunities, notes and tasks, conversations, appointments, and workflow and campaign participation, unless that data was deleted separately. That data lives in the Contact Record.
You can restore contacts deleted by someone else as long as the deletion is within the 60-day window and you have Admin access.
You can only restore a contact within 60 days of deletion; after that timeframe, the data is permanently deleted. In HIPAA-compliant accounts, deleted contacts cannot be restored at all.
Restore one or more contacts
Restore one contact or several at once from the Restore page in the Contacts section.
Navigate to Contacts > Smart Lists.
Click the three-dot (â‹®) actions menu beside the Add Contact button and select Restore.
Locate the contacts you wish to restore and select them by clicking the checkbox next to their name — individually, or all at once with Select all.
Click the Restore button next to the contact's name.
Confirm the action. The confirmation modal displays the total number of selected contacts to be restored; one click confirms and restoration begins immediately.
If any contacts are beyond the retention window or otherwise ineligible, you are notified before completion.
Select all includes all contacts in the current list view only. If you have multiple pages, increase the rows per page or repeat your selection on subsequent pages before restoring.
Reverse a bulk delete
Reverse a bulk delete from the Bulk Actions page, which logs every bulk operation performed in the account — including the bulk actions you can run on contacts.
Go to the Contacts section and click Bulk Actions in the navigation menu. The Bulk Actions page shows a history of all bulk operations performed in the account, including bulk deletes.
Locate the specific bulk delete operation you wish to reverse and click three dots > Restore.
Select Restore again from the pop-up. The restoration process begins immediately.
You can monitor the restoration's progress on the Bulk Actions page, where the status changes to indicate progress, for example "In Progress" or "Completed". Restoration time depends on the number of contacts being restored; for large bulk actions it may take several minutes.
After the process is complete, navigate back to the Contacts section and verify the restored contacts.
Why can't I restore a contact
A contact cannot be restored when it falls outside the retention window or when the account does not allow restoration.
Deleted more than two months ago. The contact is no longer recoverable.
HIPAA-compliant account. HIPAA-compliant accounts do not allow contact restoration.
