Add products to a form
Sell memberships, event registrations, merchandise, donations, sponsorships, and other purchases directly on a form. Add the Sell Products element, choose the products to offer, and let users complete registration and payment in one submission.
Add the Payment element and products
The Sell Products element — under Payments in the form builder's Quick Add panel — displays one or more products that users can purchase while completing the form. A product must already exist in your Products area before it can appear on a form.
Open your form in the Form Builder.
From Quick Add, drag the Sell Products element onto the canvas.
Connect the payment gateway.
Toggle between live and test modes.
Click Add Product and choose the products to offer — membership dues, conference registration, webinar registration, sponsorship packages, donations, merchandise, or course fees. You can include one product or several, depending on your registration process.
Customize the product details: description, image, and layout.
Customize the appearance with themes and styling options.
Save the changes.
Preview the form to see the products in action.
If a product doesn't exist yet, create it at Payments > Products, or use the create-product link inside the product selector.
Choose the selection type before configuring products. Single Selection fits registrations where someone should select only one item — one membership level, one registration type, or one sponsorship package. Multiple Selection fits purchases where users buy several items together — event registration plus a t-shirt, multiple publications, conference add-ons, or a donation plus a membership renewal.
Older forms may use the Payment element under Integrations, where the Payment Type setting is set to Sell Products to offer the same products. Forms with a Payment element can be added to funnels and used as a one-step order form. To confirm your gateway supports form payments, see Supported payment providers and methods by product area.
Customize product details
You can add up to 20 products to a form, and each product's description, image, and layout are configurable.
Up to 20 products can be added.
Three different layout options are available.
Users can select product variants available for a specific product.
Product quantity respects inventory management.
Tax calculation is included when someone purchases the product.
To collect donations or recurring contributions instead of selling products, see Collect payments in forms, including donations. To let customers apply a discount code before they pay, see Enable coupons on a payment form.
Configure price levels and variants in the payment panel
For the redesigned Sell Products payment panel, including Price Level and Variant Selection configuration, see Sell products with price levels and variants in forms and surveys.
Enable coupons
Enable coupon support on the form so users can enter a discount code during checkout. Coupons fit early bird promotions, sponsor discounts, volunteer discounts, promotional campaigns, and limited-time offers, and a coupon must be created before you can enable it on the form.
Create the coupon at Payments > Coupons.
Open the form in the form builder.
Select the payment element.
Click the gear icon to open its settings.
Scroll to the Coupons section and turn on Enable Coupon.
Click Save in the upper-right corner of the form builder.
Always test coupons before publishing the form. For the full coupon setup, see Enable coupons on a payment form.
Test Mode vs Live Mode
Test the entire registration process before accepting real payments. In Test Mode while building the form, verify that products display correctly, pricing is accurate, coupons work, required fields function properly, confirmation emails are sent, and automations trigger correctly. Once everything has been tested, switch to Live Mode so actual payments are processed.
Always complete at least one full test registration before sharing the form publicly.
Best practices
Keep these practices in mind when adding products to a form:
Keep product names clear and easy to understand.
Use descriptions when additional explanation is helpful.
Limit the number of choices whenever possible.
Test every pricing option.
Test coupons before launch.
Verify payment confirmations and automations.
Submit a complete test registration before sending the form to members.
Track product payments
After a form submission, the payment amount, Order ID, and payment status are included in the submission details. Click the Order ID to view the order details, and export the details through the export options. Email notifications reflect the payment status and payment amount.
Automate after payment
Use the Payment Received workflow trigger, with Forms as the trigger source, to run a workflow when a payment comes in from the form. See Payment Received workflow trigger for the filters, branch conditions, and custom values available after the trigger fires.
Limitations
Several product, gateway, and builder features are not supported with the Payment element.
Recurring products are not supported.
NMI and Authorize.net require First Name as a mandatory field when the form contains a Payment element.
Refund amounts are not captured at this time.
The old API-based Stripe Connect method is not supported.
In calendars with a custom form payment element, the Payment element will not display.
Multi-payments with multiple native forms are not supported in funnels yet.
Undo/Redo is not supported with the Payment element.
