Set up Social Planner and connect social accounts
Open Marketing > Social Planner to explore publishing options, connect social accounts, create posts, and add more accounts as your needs grow.
Explore Social Planner before connecting an account
You can review the available publishing workflows before connecting a social account.
Open Marketing > Social Planner.
Review the available options: Schedule Now, Upload A CSV, Create Evergreen Post, Create Recurring Post, and Create RSS Post.
Connect your first social account
Connect an account by choosing a social account button, signing in to that social network, selecting at least one page or profile to manage, and verifying the connection.
From Marketing > Social Planner, choose the button for the social account you want to connect.
Log in to that social network.
Select at least one page or profile to manage.
Verify the connection.
Connect TikTok
Connect either a TikTok Personal Account or TikTok Business Account from the Social Planner connection wizard or settings.
Open Marketing > Social Planner.
Use the connection wizard, or open the gear icon to access Settings.
Choose Add account.
Choose Personal Account or Business Account.
Sign in to the TikTok account.
Choose the TikTok account for Social Planner.
Manage connected TikTok accounts from the Social Planner settings. Comment Management for TikTok requires a TikTok Business Profile.
Connect Bluesky
Connect Bluesky with a Bluesky app password rather than your main Bluesky account password.
Create a Bluesky app password
Create the app password in Bluesky before connecting the profile to Social Planner.
Log in to Bluesky.
Open Settings > Privacy & security > App Passwords.
Choose + Add App Password.
Name the app password and choose Next.
Copy the app password.
Bluesky displays an app password only once. If you lose it, delete it in Bluesky and create a new one.
Add the Bluesky profile
Add the profile from Marketing > Social Planner after you have its username and app password.
Open Marketing > Social Planner.
Choose + Socials, then choose Connect Bluesky.
Enter the Bluesky Username without the
@symbol.Enter or paste the app password.
Choose Connect.
Choose Add beside the profile.
The connected profile appears in the All Accounts dropdown. Connect each additional Bluesky account separately with its own app password.
Bluesky publishing requirements
Prepare Bluesky posts within these supported specifications.
Images: JPEG or PNG, up to 1 MB, with up to 4 images per post.
Video: MP4 or MOV, up to 50 MB, with one video per post. Video cannot be mixed with images.
Video duration: up to 3 minutes.
Recommended video settings: 480p–720p resolution, 16:9 or 1:1 aspect ratio, and 30–60 FPS. Use H.264 video and AAC audio.
Text: up to 300 characters.
Mentions: enter the full handle because autocomplete is unavailable.
Hashtags: use letters, numbers, and underscores; numbers alone are not supported.
Links: begin with
http://orhttps://. Each link counts as 23 characters.Daily posting: up to 100 posts per 24 hours.
Bluesky comments can be viewed and replied to in Social Planner with text, emojis, and threaded replies up to 3 visible levels. Bluesky analytics include Posts, Likes, Comments, Impressions, and Engagement Rate. Custom thumbnails are not supported.
If the app password is lost or expires, create a new one in Bluesky and reconnect. Logging out of Bluesky does not require reconnection; the account remains connected until it is removed or its password is reset.
Connect Facebook Pages
Connect Facebook Pages, not personal Facebook profiles, and use a Facebook profile with admin access to the Pages you want to add.
Open Social Planner and the gear icon to access Settings.
Choose Connect a new Facebook page.
Grant all requested permissions and choose Continue.
Select the Facebook Pages to connect.
Verify that the selected Pages appear as successfully connected.
You can add Pages from the same or different Facebook profiles. Facebook no longer supports publishing to personal profiles through the API.
If Pages previously connected from a Facebook profile are missing, remove the application from Facebook Settings > Business Integration, then repeat the connection flow.
Connect Google My Business locations
Connect Google My Business locations from Social Planner settings by authorizing a Google account and selecting its available locations.
Open Social Planner and the gear icon to access Settings.
Choose Connect a new Google My Business Location or Connect a new Google My Business profile.
Choose the Gmail or Google account when prompted.
Grant the requested permissions.
Choose the locations for Social Planner.
Social Planner is available in the New UI. If a location is already connected, the interface displays location already added. When a Google account has more than 10 locations, the interface displays This location belongs to a chain. The Local Post API is disabled for this location.
Connect Meta Threads
Connect a public Threads account that is linked to Instagram by authorizing access with the linked Instagram account's credentials.
Open Marketing > Social Planner.
Choose + Socials, then choose Connect Threads.
Log in with the linked Instagram credentials and authorize access.
Choose Add beside the profile.
The connected account appears in the All Accounts dropdown. You can connect multiple public Threads accounts and cross-schedule them.
Threads publishing requirements
Prepare Threads posts within these supported specifications.
Images: JPEG or PNG, up to 8 MB, with up to 20 images per post.
Video: MP4 or MOV, up to 1 GB, with up to 20 total media items per post. Images and videos can be mixed.
Dimensions: images from 320 px to 1440 px; video width up to 1920 px.
Aspect ratio: 0.01:1 to 10:1.
Video duration: up to 5 minutes.
Frame rate: 23–60 FPS. Use H.264 or HEVC video and AAC audio.
Text: 1–500 characters. Text over 500 characters is posted as a threaded reply.
Location tagging is unavailable for Threads because of a Threads API limitation. Threads analytics include Posts, Likes, Comments, and Engagement Rate. Custom thumbnails are not supported.
When the Instagram or Threads token expires, Social Planner displays a Reconnect prompt. Threads posts cannot be edited from Social Planner; delete them in the Threads app.
Connect LinkedIn profiles and business pages
Connect LinkedIn personal profiles or business pages from Social Planner settings; LinkedIn Page connections require admin access.
Open Marketing > Social Planner.
Choose the gear icon to open Social Planner settings.
In the Social Accounts tab, choose + Connect Social.
Choose Connect LinkedIn.
Sign in to LinkedIn.
Authorize access through LeadConnector by choosing Allow.
Choose the LinkedIn profile or business page.
Choose Add.
Confirm that the account appears as Connected in Social Accounts with its type and token validity.
LinkedIn tokens are valid for approximately 60 days. After expiration, the account displays a Reconnect prompt. An account with missing permissions displays Permissions Missing.
For advertising-related connections, the LinkedIn login needs Super Admin or Campaign Manager access to the ad account. You can connect multiple LinkedIn profiles and business pages. No fixed account-connection limit is stated; the number of accounts should align with your subscription tier and admin permissions. After connecting both a profile and company page, choose the destination during post creation.
Understand X availability
X is not available in Social Planner. The X integration was disabled on December 4, 2024, so X does not appear in the Connections tab and you cannot connect, schedule, or publish to X from Social Planner.
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile, and TikTok remain supported social integrations.
Connect YouTube videos and Shorts
Connect YouTube through Google Integrations, then schedule a video or Short from the Social Planner post composer.
Connect the YouTube channel
Connect a Google account that owns a YouTube channel before scheduling YouTube content.
Open Marketing > Social Planner.
Connect the YouTube account through Google Integrations.
Select the account.
Verify in YouTube account settings that the Google account owns a channel. If no channel exists, YouTube may display Create a channel.
A YouTube user with Manager access cannot connect the channel through Social Planner or another third-party API integration. The Primary Owner must authorize and connect the channel.
Schedule a YouTube video or Short
Use the post composer to choose the channel, video type, title, privacy, and schedule.
Choose Create New Post.
Select the YouTube channel.
Add the video description, hashtags, and emojis.
Choose Video or Shorts.
Add a title.
Set privacy to Public, Private, or Unlisted.
Optionally add a follow-up comment, then schedule the video or Short.
When you choose Shorts, #shorts is appended to the title by default. Videos and Shorts can be up to 1 GB. Shorts can be up to 3 minutes, with a recommended 9:16 aspect ratio.
Verified users can upload PNG or JPEG thumbnails up to 2 MB. Custom thumbnails are supported for YouTube Videos, but not YouTube Shorts. The YouTube token has no fixed validity period and remains active until it is manually revoked or disconnected.
Use a Social Planner template
Use the template workflow to search, browse, or filter templates before scheduling a post.
Open Marketing > Social Planner > New Post > Social Planner Templates.
Search, browse, or filter the available templates.
Preview a template and choose Continue.
Choose Select Socials.
Complete Schedule Post by selecting the account and timing.
Choose Schedule Posts.
Create a custom post
Create a custom post when you want to enter the post details, social account, and content yourself.
Open Marketing > Social Planner > New Post > Create New Post.
Enter the post details, select the social account, and add the content.
Choose how to handle the post: save for later, post now, schedule for later, send for approval, or schedule as recurring.
Add media and edit a video thumbnail
Add images or videos from the Media Library, preview video media in the composer, and edit a video thumbnail.
In the post composer, choose the image or video icon to add media from the Media Library.
Preview video media in the composer.
Replace or edit media while retaining its position in the media sequence.
Hover over a video and choose the pencil icon to edit its thumbnail.
Open the custom thumbnail tab and upload an image.
Custom video thumbnails are supported for Facebook Pages, Instagram Business Accounts, LinkedIn Profiles and Pages, and YouTube Videos.
Connect additional social accounts
Connect more accounts from the Social Planner settings.
Open Settings.
Select additional social accounts.
Choose Connect Social.
