Yes. Smart Lists are dynamic and refresh automatically as contacts are marked or unmarked for Email DND.
Create a Smart List of contacts who bounced or unsubscribed
Create a Smart List that shows every contact who bounced or unsubscribed by applying the Email DND filter on the All tab of Contacts. When an email bounces or a contact unsubscribes, JourneyCARE automatically enables Email DND for that contact, so one filter finds all of them.
Create the Smart List
Filter the Contacts list by Email DND from the All tab, then save the filtered view as a Smart List.
Go to Contacts and open the All tab.
Open the Filter control.
Select Email DND. The list now shows every contact marked as DND.
Review the results.
Click Save as New Smart List to save the filtered view as a reusable list.
Give the Smart List a descriptive name and save it. It appears alongside your other saved lists.
Smart Lists are dynamic: contacts are added automatically as they are marked Email DND and removed when the setting is cleared. The filter matches any contact with Email DND enabled, including contacts who unsubscribed or marked an email as spam.
Add Membership Type and Membership Status columns
Add the Membership Type and Membership Status columns to the list so you can see which members are missing your messages and prioritize follow-up.
Open the column manager near the top of the table.
Add the Membership Type and Membership Status columns.
Drag and drop the columns into your preferred order, then close the column manager. The new order is reflected immediately.
Save the Smart List again so it keeps the column layout.
Troubleshoot with the red warning icon
When a contact is marked DND, a red warning icon appears on the last email that was sent to them. Hover over the icon to see why the email could not be sent.
Common reasons include an email address that no longer exists, a company firewall blocking delivery, or an inbox that is too full. The message points to the underlying issue so you can resolve it.
Confirm the email address is correct before clearing Email DND; an invalid address is marked DND again after the next delivery attempt. See Understanding Do Not Disturb (DND) Status for how to clear the setting, and Find members who aren't receiving email for the full review workflow.
The Email DND filter covers the email channel only. A contact marked Email DND can still receive messages on other channels, such as SMS.
Frequently asked questions
Does the list update automatically?
Can I narrow the list to active members?
Yes. Add Membership Status = Active as a second filter to focus on members who may be missing important communications.
Does the Email DND filter include contacts who unsubscribed?
Yes. An unsubscribe automatically marks the contact as Email DND, so they appear in this list.
