No. The operators available depend on the field you select.
Advanced filters in Smart Lists
Advanced filters narrow a Smart List using rules built from three parts: a field, an operator, and a value. Build them from Contacts > Smart Lists or from the Advanced Filters button on the Contacts list, and save the result as a Smart List to reuse it. The operators you can choose fall into four groups: date, DND, string, and numeric.
What an Advanced Filter is
Each Advanced Filter combines a field, an operator, and a value. The operators available depend on the field you select: a date field supports date-based operators, a number field supports comparison operators, and a text field supports match operators.
Filters can be combined so a contact must match every condition (AND logic) or any one of the added conditions (OR logic).
Build an Advanced Filter
Start from Contacts, open the filter builder, then add fields, operators, and values before applying the filter.
Go to Contacts, then click + Add smart list or open an existing Smart List.
Click Advanced Filters.
Search for and select the field you want to use.
Choose the operator that matches the segmentation you want.
Enter or select the value.
Click + Add Nested Filter to add another condition that must also be true for the contact to stay in the Smart List. Use this for AND logic.
Click + Add Filter to add another possible condition the contact can match to be included in the Smart List. Use this for OR logic.
Click Apply.
To reuse the filtered view later, save it with Save as New Smart List. For the full Smart List workflow, see Create and manage Smart Lists.

Date filter best practices
Use In the Last to identify recent engagement.
Use More Than to identify inactive contacts.
Use Between for historical reports.
Use Is Empty to find contacts with no date on record, for example contacts with no appointment history.
DND filters
DND (Do Not Disturb) filters identify whether communication restrictions are enabled for a contact on a specific channel. They help you build compliant outreach lists and exclude contacts who should not receive messages on selected channels.
DND and boolean fields you can filter by include DND all, SMS DND, Email DND, Calls & Voicemails DND, WhatsApp DND, Inbound DND, FB Messenger DND, and GMB Messenger DND.
Filter setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
Enabled | Contact has DND enabled for the selected channel |
Disabled | Contact does not have DND enabled for the selected channel |
See Understanding Do Not Disturb (DND) Status for how DND works and how to clear it.
String filters
String filters match text-based information such as names, labels, IDs, attribution values, and communication details. Some string fields take free text, others use a dropdown of available options, and some accept comma-separated values. If an operator is not shown for the selected field, that operator is not available for that field.
String fields you can filter by include First name, Last name, Email, Address, Timezone, Last Updated By, Opportunity Pipeline, Email Status, and Tags.
