Bulk schedule posts with Advanced CSV
Use Advanced CSV in Marketing > Social Planner to upload a .csv or .xlsx file, map posts to supported channels, review flagged issues, and import approved posts into the calendar queue.
Prepare your file and media
Prepare an Advanced Format file and use links that Social Planner can process before you start the import.
Save the file as
.csvor.xlsx.Use the latest template when you need video thumbnails; it includes the
thumbnailUrlcolumn.Use Media Library links for media. Google Drive links can no longer be processed.
Add first-time comments and follow-ups through the template when your workflow needs them.
Import the Advanced CSV file
Start the bulk-scheduling workflow from Social Planner's new-post menu.
Open the upload workflow. Go to Marketing > Social Planner, select + New Post, choose Upload from CSV, and then choose Advance Format.
Upload the file. Upload your prepared
.csvor.xlsxfile and select Next.Choose the channels. Select the social channel or channels that the imported posts should use. Advanced CSV supports Facebook, Instagram Stories and Reels, YouTube Shorts, Google Business Profile, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and other supported platforms.
Send the posts for approval when needed. Select Send for approval and choose an approver when the posts must be reviewed before scheduling.
Create the import. Select Create to open the review flow.
Review and correct the file issues. Correct every flagged issue before importing the approved posts. Use the third review screen to add, update, or upload images where the selected platform supports those actions.
Schedule and import the approved posts. Select Schedule, then select Import to add the approved posts to the calendar queue.
Use platform-specific CSV columns
Add the platform-specific columns and values that match how each destination handles media, boards, watermarks, and categorization.
Pinterest boards
Create a Pinterest board column manually in the file, then enter the board name or board ID for each row.
Images and carousels
Facebook and Instagram image carousels support multiple comma-separated image URLs in the CSV.
Google Business Profile supports one image and does not support carousels. When Facebook and Google Business Profile are selected together, the first image goes to Google Business Profile and all images go to Facebook.
Videos and thumbnails
Use only one video or Reel per post. Multiple video URLs can cause scheduling to fail.
Use thumbnailUrl to apply a custom thumbnail to the first video. Multiple thumbnails are not supported, and thumbnail behavior may vary.
Watermarks, tags, and categories
Watermark fields apply during import for supported platforms. Social Planner uses the current watermark assignment for each social account when each post publishes.
Use CSV columns for tags and categories. Tags and categories do not transfer from a snapshot or template into a new location.
Use the supported date formats
Enter scheduled dates using one of these formats exactly:
YYYY-MM-DD HH:mmYYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ssYYYY/MM/DD HH:mm:ssYYYY/MM/DD HH:mmMM/DD/YYYY H:mm:ssMM-DD-YYYY H:mm:ssMM/DD/YYYY H:mmMM-DD-YYYY H:mm
Understand file-size and quantity notes
CSV quantity is described in two ways:
One FAQ says that a CSV supports 90 posts divided across outlets.
A later note says there is no strict limit, but extremely large files may take longer to process.
Correct errors during review before you import the approved posts.
Check the imported posts before they publish
Review the channel, media, date, and platform-specific values in the review flow before selecting Schedule and Import.
Confirm that flagged issues are corrected.
Confirm that Pinterest rows contain the intended board name or board ID.
Confirm that posts use no more than one video or Reel.
Confirm that carousel image URLs are comma-separated when the destination is Facebook or Instagram.
Confirm that Google Business Profile rows use one image and no carousel.
Confirm that dates use one of the supported formats.
