Create Instagram collaborator posts in Social Planner
Create an Instagram collaborator post in JourneyCARE by choosing Instagram, selecting Feed or Reel, entering one exact Instagram handle in Collaborator, and then scheduling the post or choosing Post Now.
Requirements for Instagram collaborator posts
Use these requirements before you create the post.
Collaborator posts support the Feed and Reel post types. Stories and Carousels are not supported.
Enter the collaborator's exact Instagram handle in the Collaborator field.
Only one collaborator is supported per post.
The collaborator does not need to be connected to your Social Planner account.
Instagram Business and Creator accounts support collaborator posts when they are eligible for Instagram Collab posts.
A collaborator post is different from an @Mention. A collaborator post creates a shared Feed or Reel post and sends the collaboration invitation through Instagram after publication; an @Mention identifies a profile in post content.
Create and publish the collaborator post
Use this workflow when you want to publish or schedule a shared Instagram Feed or Reel post with one collaborator.
Open Social Planner. In the left navigation, select Marketing, then select Social Planner.
Connect Instagram if needed. Open Social Planner settings and connect the Instagram account before creating the post. Use Set up Social Planner and connect social accounts for the account-connection workflow.
Start a post. Select New Post, then select Instagram as the social account.
Add the post content. Enter the caption, hashtags, and location, and add the post media.
Choose the post type. Select Feed or Reel. These are the supported post types for collaborator posts.
Add one collaborator. In Collaborator, enter the collaborator's exact Instagram handle.
Choose when to publish. Select a publish date and time to schedule the post, or choose Post Now to publish it immediately.
Accept the Instagram collaboration invitation
Instagram handles the collaboration after the post is published, so there is no pre-publication approval step in Social Planner.
The post remains on the publishing account if the collaborator does not accept the invitation, and it is not visible on the collaborator's profile. The collaborator cannot be changed after the post is live.
