Use the Spacer element in the Email Builder
Add a Spacer element to an email layout to create adjustable empty space, then use its editing and visibility controls to tailor the spacing for your design.
What the Spacer element does
The Spacer element adds adjustable vertical or horizontal space between content blocks in an email. It creates empty space without displaying visible content.
Use the Spacer element to control layout spacing without relying on dividers or manual padding adjustments. Its spacing automatically adapts for mobile and desktop devices.
Add and configure a Spacer element
Add a Spacer element from the Email Builder when you need adjustable space between parts of an email.
From your JourneyCARE sub-account dashboard, go to Marketing → Emails → Templates.
Open an existing email template, or create a new template with + New.
In the Email Builder, select the Add Elements (+) icon in the upper-left corner.
Find the Spacer element in the sidebar.
Drag the Spacer element into the position where you want the empty space in your email layout.
Select the Spacer element and open the Edit tab in the left bar.
Adjust the Spacer element's height, width, or color.
Set visibility options
Use the Spacer element's Visibility tab when its display should depend on the device or on conditional sending.
Select the Spacer element in the email layout.
Open the Visibility tab in the left bar.
Adjust Device-Based Visibility or Conditional Sending.
Preview the spacing
Preview the email on desktop and mobile devices to check that the Spacer element creates the intended spacing in each layout.
Remove a Spacer element
Delete a Spacer element when you no longer need its empty space in the layout.
Select the Spacer element.
Use the delete or trash icon to remove it from the layout.
Spacer element behavior
The Spacer element only creates empty space, so it does not add visible content to the email. Set the height for vertical space or the width for horizontal space, depending on your layout needs.
Spacers are lightweight and do not impact email deliverability or loading times.
