Adjust layout margins and text spacing in the Email Builder

Adjust layout margins on individual layout blocks, or use typography settings to control spacing above and below text tags across emails that use those styles.

Adjust layout margins

Use layout margins to set vertical space between blocks and sections in an email.

1. Open the Email Builder from Marketing → Emails.

2. Select a layout block in the email, such as a row, section, or column.

3. In the settings panel on the left, scroll to the Margin section.

4. Set the Top and Bottom margins with the slider or enter a value in pixels.

5. Review the margin changes in the preview, which updates in real time.

6. Click Save to preserve the changes.

Margins are the preferred way to control vertical spacing when you need precise layout adjustments without adding extra spacer elements.

Customize spacing for headings and paragraphs

Use typography settings to apply top and bottom spacing to text tags such as headings and paragraphs.

1. Open the Email Builder from the Marketing → Emails tab.

2. From the top-left controls, open Appearance → Typography Settings.

3. Enable or edit spacing for each text tag.

4. Set Top Spacing for space above the tag and Bottom Spacing for space below it.

5. Enter the spacing value, such as 10px or 1rem.

6. Click Save to apply the changes to all emails that use that tag style.

Adjust list item spacing

Use List Item Spacing to add vertical space between items in supported bullet and numbered lists without changing the line height within an item.

1. In the Page Builder, select a Rich Text or Bullet List element.

2. Open the Style panel.

3. Adjust List Item Spacing, next to Line Height.

Line Height controls vertical spacing within lines of the same item or paragraph. Use Line Height for dense text and List Item Spacing to separate list items.

Choose the right spacing control

Use layout margins for space between layout blocks and sections, text spacing for space around headings and paragraphs, and list item spacing for the gaps between list items.

• Layout margins: Set the Top and Bottom margins for a selected row, section, or column.

• Top Spacing and Bottom Spacing: Set space above and below a selected text tag in Typography Settings.

• List Item Spacing: Set the gap between items in supported bullet and numbered lists.

• Line Height: Set vertical spacing within lines of the same list item or paragraph.

Spacing behavior to keep in mind

Typography spacing changes apply globally to emails that use the specific heading or paragraph tag styles, and spacing changes appear in the Email Builder preview in real time.

Spacing settings apply universally across devices in the current version of the Email Builder; separate desktop and mobile spacing settings are not available.
