Close event registration
Stop event registrations in two ways: for a ticketed event in beta, set a registration deadline, a capacity limit, or each ticket type's Sale period end; for a form-based registration, schedule the form's closing date. Once registration is closed, no new purchases or submissions come through.
Close a ticketed event (beta)
Three settings control when registration stops: a Deadline on the whole event, a maximum Capacity, and a Sale period end for each ticket type. Set one, two, or all three depending on how you want registration to close.
Go to Portal and Groups → Events and open the event.
Open the Settings tab.
Set the Deadline: the date and time after which registrations close. By default this is the event start time.
Set the Capacity: the maximum total registrations across all ticket types. Set it to 0 for unlimited.
Open the Tickets tab and set each ticket type's Sale period end date and time to when that ticket should stop selling, such as the event's end.
Save your changes.
Sale period times use the event timezone. Setting a sale period end date stops new purchases but does not change the event's Published status and does not remove existing registrations.
The beta has no Unpublish option for the event landing page, so the sale period is how you prevent new registrations after the event concludes. After a ticket's sale period has ended, the event page still shows but displays no tickets available, so visitors cannot register even if they reach the landing page. See Stop ticket purchases after an event ends for more detail.
Close a form-based registration
Schedule the form's visibility so it stops accepting submissions at a date and time you choose, and pick the page or link visitors see instead of the form after closing. That closed-state page is where you control the message visitors read when registration is over.
Go to Sites → Forms and open the registration form.
Open Settings.
Enable Schedule form visibility.
Under opening, choose Right away or Pick a date.
Under closing, choose Never or Pick a date, then select a timezone.
For the periods before opening and after closing, choose to show a page or open a link for visitors.
Preview the unavailable-state page to check what visitors will see after closing.
After closing, visitors see the page or link you selected instead of the form, and the form stops accepting submissions. To reopen registration, change the dates or disable Schedule form visibility.
See Close or shut off a form for the full form-closure steps and options.
