Set up member and non-member event pricing
Offer different event prices for members and non-members in one of three ways:
1. discount codes communicated only to members;
2. separate events where non-members register via the public-facing ticketed event and members register through a member only version placed in the portal so login is required; or
3. separate registration forms in the legacy form-based flow when the member price must stay private.
The Events feature is in beta and will replace the form-based process in Event Registrations with Forms.
Set member and non-member ticket types (Events beta)
Option 1: Offer a lower price with a coupon code
You can also keep one public price for everyone and offer a discount code. Create the code under Tickets → Coupon Codes:
Coupon name — an internal label.
Coupon code — the code attendees enter. Type a custom code or click Generate.
Coupon type — Percentage.
Discount — percentage off, such as 20 for 20%.
Active period — the date range the code is valid.
Usage limits — optionally limit total redemptions or restrict the coupon to specific ticket types.
Attendees apply the code by clicking Have a coupon code? on the ticket selection screen, so anyone who has the code can use it. Event coupon codes apply only to Events, not to other JourneyCARE products.
Option 2: Create two versions of your Event - the first for public-facing registrations and the second for members only
Create two duplicate events with the only difference being that one has only public-facing tickets on it, while the other has member-priced tickets.
Embed the member version in your portal.
On your calendar, the public registration link should go to the public registration form. Your member registration link will go to the page where you've embedded the member pricing.
Set member and non-member pricing with forms (legacy flow)
Option 3: Create two versions of your form - the first for public-facing registrations and the second for members only
Create each registration type as a product in the product area, such as a member registration and a non-member registration. Products can also cover guest meal tickets, t-shirts, and add-on experiences.
Open Sites → Forms and open your registration form.
In the form builder, add the Sell Products element under Quick Add → Payments. (Older forms may use the Payment element under Integrations with Payment Type set to Sell Products.)
Select the products attendees can buy on this form.
What's next
Once your pricing is in place, control when ticket sales stop with Stop ticket purchases after an event ends, and before launch, test the registration flow with Live mode off so no real payments are processed (see Create and manage ticketed and RSVP events).
