Unpublish a website page
JourneyCARE has two site editors, and each removes a page from the live site differently: the Premium Site Editor, which most JourneyCARE clients use, sets the page as a draft and then republishes the site; the Standard Site Editor, used for basic sites and funnels, unpublishes the page immediately from its options menu. Match the steps below to the editor your site uses.
Hiding a page from navigation is not the same as unpublishing it. A hidden page stays accessible by its direct link if it is published; see Manage website pages and navigation.
Unpublish a page in the Premium Site Editor
The Premium Site Editor is the most common editor for JourneyCARE sites. Set a page as a draft when you do not want it searchable or on the live site: once the site is published or republished, the page no longer exists on the live site.f
Access the Premium Site Editor from the Premium Site Options page in your JourneyCARE account.
Once you enter the Site Editor, you can follow these instructions:
Set a page as a draft
In the side panel, click Pages.
Click the three dots beside the page.
Click Set as a draft. If the page is in the navigation, it is removed.
Click Republish to remove the page from the live site.
Bring a drafted page back to the live site
In the side panel, click Pages.
Click the three dots beside the page.
Click Stage draft for publish. The page is added back to the navigation.
Click Republish to add the page to the live site.
Notes
The home page, external-link pages, and folders cannot be drafted.
Drafting a main navigation item that has sub-pages makes those sub-pages inaccessible in the navigation.
On multi-language sites, drafting a page in the default language drafts that page in the additional languages as well. Pages in additional languages can be drafted on their own, but a page in an additional language cannot be added to the next publish until the page in the default language is also added to the next publish.
Unpublish a page in the Standard Site Editor
Use the Standard Site Editor for sites built in the funnel/website builder. Unpublishing takes a single page offline immediately and does not require republishing the rest of the site.
You access the Standard Editor from Standard Site Options in your main JourneyCARE account. If you don't see a tab labeled Funnels or Websites, your organization is not using this type of Editor. (Very few clients do, so do not be surprised if you do not see it.)
Unpublish from the page list
Open the funnel or website you want to manage and go to its page list (Funnel details or Website details).
Select the page you want to take offline and open its Options menu.
Choose Unpublish. A confirmation dialog opens with an info banner explaining what unpublishing will and will not affect.
Pick the redirect behavior: Standard 404 page to show a default "page not found" error, or Custom redirect page to send visitors to an existing page in the funnel or website, or to an external URL.
Confirm. The page goes offline immediately: visitors to its URL see your chosen 404 or redirect, and all other published pages are unaffected.
Unpublish from the builder
The same action is available without leaving the builder.
In the builder, open the pages side panel.
Open the selected page's actions menu.
Select Unpublish.
Pick the redirect behavior and confirm.
What happens when you unpublish
Unpublishing does not delete the page or its history. The page remains editable, and you can bring it back online anytime by selecting it, choosing Publish, and confirming.
Unpublished pages are excluded from navigation link options, such as buttons or image navigation.
If an A/B test is running on the page, unpublishing stops the test and preserves its historical metrics.
You can change the redirect destination later with Edit Redirect Link without changing the page's publish state.
Unpublished pages show an Unpublished tag in the page list, and the page's menu changes to show Publish and Edit Redirect Link.
