Create manual and smart product collections
Create a product collection from Payments > Products > Collections when you want to show a set of products together in store pages, email templates, or workflows. Pick a manual collection to choose the products yourself, or a smart collection that fills itself from rules you define.
What product collections are
A product collection groups products so they can be shown as a set. Manual collections include the products you pick; smart collections include the products that match rules you define.
A product can appear in multiple collections.
Collections can be displayed in Store Pages, Email Templates, and Workflows.
Create the products before grouping them — see Create and sell products. To show a collection to shoppers, add it to a page in your ecommerce online store.

For a manual collection, search and select the products to include. For a smart collection, define one or more rules.

Once created, the collection type cannot be changed. To switch types, create a new collection and replace the old one in pages or workflows.
Manual collections
Use a manual collection when you want to control exactly which products appear and in what order.
Products are selected manually.
Products can be added or removed at any time.
Items can be manually ordered with drag-and-drop.
Manual collections suit seasonal promotions, special themes, fixed product sets, and campaigns.
Smart collections
Use a smart collection when you want a collection to fill itself from rules and update without manual upkeep.
Define one or more rules based on Title, Variant Title, Price, or Inventory.
Supported operators are Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than / Less Than, and Contains / Does Not Contain.
Combine conditions with All or Any logic, chosen when the collection is created.
A product qualifies if any variant or price row matches the saved logic.
Invalid or conflicting conditions, such as
Price > 100 AND Price < 50, are blocked when you save.Smart collections process and update automatically in the background, usually within a few minutes.
Manual additions and removals are disabled for smart collections.
A smart collection can remain empty if no products match.
