Set up shipping profiles and custom shipping rates
Set up shipping in Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery. JourneyCARE creates a General Shipping Profile automatically for your store; custom profiles apply their own zones and rates to selected stores and products, checkout combines rates from every applicable profile, and app-generated rates can be overridden by a custom profile.
The General Shipping Profile
The General Shipping Profile is created automatically for the store and applies to every product not assigned to a custom profile or an app-defined profile.
It acts as the fallback for standard rates and for the rates a third-party app does not return. Configure its zones and rates from Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery; for the full details on zones, conditional pricing, and ZIP or postcode restrictions, see Configure shipping and delivery rates.
Create a custom shipping profile
Create a custom profile from Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery > Custom Profiles when selected stores or products need zones and rates of their own.
Go to Payments > Settings > Shipping & Delivery > Custom Profiles.
Click Add Custom.
Enter a unique profile name. The name is used for internal purposes only.
Select the store or stores the profile applies to.
Choose the products or product groups to include.
Click Add Zone and select the countries or regions you deliver to.
For each zone, add one or more rate types: Flat rate (for example, $5), Price-based (for example, free over $50), Weight-based (for example, $10 for 0–10 lb), or Free shipping.
Click Save.
Place a test order to confirm the correct rates display at checkout.
Follow these rules when configuring profiles:
A custom profile can apply to one or more stores and can include selected products or product groups.
A product can belong to only one custom profile at a time; assigning it to a new profile overrides the old profile.
Deleting a custom profile returns its products to the General Shipping Profile.
Each profile must have a unique name to prevent checkout confusion.
Add products to the store from Payments > Products before assigning them to a profile; see Set up an ecommerce online store.
How checkout combines rates
When a cart contains items from multiple profiles, checkout adds the rates from every applicable profile and presents them as one combined shipping line.
If items come from profiles with different names, checkout shows one combined line named Shipping.
If the applicable profiles share a name, rates combine under that shared profile name.
Rates from all applicable profiles are added together and displayed as one combined shipping line.
Shipping options are sorted by price, lowest first, and the lowest-cost option is preselected.
Free Shipping appears first and is selected by default when it is available.
When rates recalculate after an address or cart change, checkout reapplies the sort order and default selection.
App-generated shipping rates
Third-party shipping apps generate delivery rates for your products; a custom profile for the same products overrides those app-defined rates.
A custom profile for the same products can override app-defined rates.
If an app fails to return rates, the General Shipping Profile supplies the fallback rate.
