Import content from another course
Copy lessons, modules, submodules, or an entire course structure from one existing course into another with Import from another course in the Course Builder. Imported content is copied into the destination course and becomes editable there as soon as the import finishes.
What gets imported
Import copies the full content of the items you select, including lesson titles and structure, module and submodule hierarchy, videos and attached media, thumbnails, descriptions and formatted content, quiz questions, and assignments and resources.
How imported content behaves
Imported content is a copy, not a link. Changes you make later in the original course do not automatically update the imported copy, and edits to the imported copy affect only the destination course.
Existing content in the destination course is not overwritten. Imported items are added alongside your current content, and imported content is editable immediately.
Import content from another course
Start from the course that should receive the content. If the destination course does not exist yet, build a course first.
Go to Portal and Groups > Courses > Products and open the course where you want to import content.
In the Course Builder, click + Add Content and select Import from another course from the dropdown.
In the modal, search for or browse the course you want to import from, then click Select on the source course.
Choose the content you want to import: individual lessons, modules, submodules, or the full course structure. Click Import selected items or Import entire course.
A progress modal shows while the content is added. The import continues in the background, so you can keep working.
When the import completes, review the imported content in the destination course and confirm that modules, submodules, lessons, videos, thumbnails, descriptions, quizzes, assignments, and resources appear as expected. Use the course editor to edit the imported content further.
