How your data is used in AI features
Our AI features run on HighLevel's platform, and HighLevel states in its Privacy Policy that it does not use your personal information or private sub-account data to train generalized, public AI models. Your data is used only to provide the specific AI service you are using.
What the HighLevel Privacy Policy says
HighLevel's Privacy Policy states: "Our use of AI is designed to provide direct services to you. We do not use your Personal Information to train generalized, public AI models."
In practice, this means the member and organization data you manage in JourneyCARE is used to deliver the AI feature you're using, such as answering a member's question in an AI-powered conversation. It is not pooled into a public model.
Who processes your data for AI features
HighLevel relies on specialized AI subprocessors, external AI providers like OpenAI, to power features such as Conversation AI and Content AI. HighLevel's instructions limit those providers' use of your data to providing the specific service you are using.
HighLevel's Subprocessors page lists OpenAI alongside BotPress, RetellAI, and Synthflow as AI providers. HighLevel's contracts with its suppliers and vendors include provisions that protect personal information and limit its use.
What training an AI bot actually means
Training an AI bot builds a knowledge base from your own sources that your bot retrieves from before it generates a response. It is not the same as training a generalized, public AI model.
A knowledge base can include:
FAQs you write as custom bot responses
Web pages added through the web crawler, such as exact URLs, paths, or entire domains, plus Google Docs
Uploaded documents such as DOC, DOCX, and PDF; text is extracted and indexed, and embedded images are skipped
Tables, rich text, and web search sources
You attach the knowledge base to your bot under AI Agents > Conversation AI > Agent List > Bot Training, and a single knowledge base can hold up to 4,000 web URLs.
The content you put into an AI feature, such as the sources in your bot's knowledge base, is processed by third-party AI subprocessors to deliver the feature. HighLevel limits that processing to providing the specific service you are using.
