How the invoice builder works

The invoice builder works in two panes: editing options on the left and a live invoice preview on the right that updates as you work, so you review the finished invoice before you save and send it.

What the left panel supports

The left panel of the builder holds the editing options for the invoice:

• Customer information

• Line items

• Totals

• Late Fees

• Tips

• Payment Schedules

Add products inline

Add a line item by typing a product name and pressing Enter. When the first recurring product is added, the invoice is automatically treated as recurring.

Preview, save, and send

The preview updates in real time while you edit, so every change appears before you finalize the invoice. Review the preview, then click Save to finalize and send the invoice.

Switch to the new design

Switch to the new invoice layout from the banner at the top of the invoice page. The new design must also be enabled from Labs.
