Custom metrics with metric-level filters
Add a filter to a single metric token inside a custom metric formula, and pull data from Meta Ads or Google Analytics, using the full-page Custom Metrics builder. Each metric token keeps its own independent filter, and conditions within one metric combine with AND logic.
Add a metric-level filter
Add a metric-level filter when you want one metric within a formula to consider only certain data. Filtering happens on the metric token itself, not on the formula as a whole, so the other tokens are unaffected. Custom metrics are available on plans $497 and above; see Create and use custom metrics for dashboard reports to build a metric first.
Open the Dashboard and enter Edit Mode.
Select Add Widget, then open an existing custom metric or create a new one. Custom Metrics opens in a full-page builder.
Build the formula as usual.
Click the metric token you want to filter. A Configuration panel opens on the right side of the screen with a Filters tab.
Confirm Applying to shows the metric you are filtering, then select a Date Property — the date field the metric is calculated on.
Select a filter attribute (such as Tag, Pipeline, Owner, or Source), an operator (such as Is one of or Is not), and the filter value.
Select + AND to add another condition to the same metric, or + Add Filter to start another filter row.
Select Update at the top right.
Conditions within one metric combine with AND logic, so the metric includes only data that satisfies every condition. Each metric token in the formula has its own independent filter, and a metric-level filter does not affect the other tokens. Once a metric has an active filter, the metric-token badge shows a filter icon.
Meta Ads as a data source
Use Meta Ads metrics to measure paid social performance alongside your CRM data. They are available once the Meta Ads integration is connected.
In the Custom Metric builder, click inside the formula field to open the metric picker.
Select Meta Ads from the metric categories.
Select a Meta Ads metric and combine it with other metrics using operators.
Available Meta Ads metrics include Sum of Spend, Sum of Ad Clicks, Sum of Impressions, Sum of Conversions, Sum of Reach, and Sum of Website Purchases, plus average, minimum, and maximum CPC, Cost Per Conversion, CPM, and CTR.
For example, Sum of Spend (Meta) / Sum of Conversions tracks Cost per Conversion from your Meta campaigns directly on the dashboard.
Google Analytics as a data source
Use Google Analytics metrics to pull website analytics into a custom metric formula. Connect your Google Analytics account under Settings > Integrations before GA metrics appear in the picker.
In the Custom Metric builder, click inside the formula field to open the metric picker.
Select Google Analytics from the metric categories.
Select a GA metric and combine it with your CRM metrics using operators.
For example, Sum of Spend (GA) / Count of Opportunities tracks Cost per Opportunity by combining ad spend data with your pipeline.
Example custom metrics
These examples combine metric-level filters with Meta Ads and Google Analytics data sources.
Metric | Formula | Filter |
|---|---|---|
Opportunity Win Rate | Count of Opportunity [Won] / Count of Opportunity [Total] x 100 | Pipeline or Owner |
Customer Ratio | Count of Contacts [Tag = Customer] / Count of Contacts x 100 | Tag = Customer |
Lead Conversion by Source | Count of Opportunity [Won] / Count of Contacts x 100 | Contact Source = Facebook / Google |
Cost per Opportunity | Sum of Spend (GA) / Count of Opportunity | — |
Cost per Conversion | Sum of Spend (Meta) / Sum of Conversions | — |
Revenue per Call | Total Revenue / Count of Calls | Call Made By |
Behavior notes
You can add multiple AND conditions to one metric; each condition is a separate attribute-operator-value row.
Meta Ads and Google Analytics metrics are calculated based on the date range set on the dashboard or report.
Filters apply only to the metric token they are configured on; other tokens in the same formula are unaffected.
If Meta Ads or Google Analytics metrics do not appear in the picker, connect the relevant integration under Settings > Integrations and try again.
Filtered custom metrics can be pushed to other accounts through Snapshots. Filters remain intact only when the destination account has matching data sources and field values.
