Create, schedule, and export custom reports as PDF
Build a custom report in the Report Builder, then download it as a PDF or send it to recipients by email on a schedule. All plans have access to multiple dashboards and fully customizable reports.
Before you start
Custom Reports live under Reporting in the sub-account. When you build a report, keep in mind how timezones affect the data: the Report Builder shows data using the timezone set in your browser, the scheduled email preview uses the sub-account's timezone, and Google Ads and Facebook Ads data uses the timezone configured in those ad accounts rather than the sub-account timezone.
Create the report
Open Custom Reports and start a new report, either from scratch or by converting an existing dashboard.
Go to Reporting and select Custom Reports.
Select New Report.
Choose to start from scratch or convert an existing dashboard into a report.
If you started from scratch, the Report Builder opens. Rename the report at the top to reflect its purpose.
Design the report
Use the Report Builder to set up the cover page, add widgets, organize pages, and apply a theme.
Set up the cover page
The first page is the cover page, which you can customize or remove through the Page Properties menu on the right. From Page Properties you can upload your company logo, configure headers for each page, and adjust the background color of the report pages.
Add widgets, sections, and themes
Add the content that makes up your report, then organize it into sections and apply a theme.
Select the + icon on the left to add widgets.
Upload or customize widgets from the widget sidebar.
Use the Elements Menu to add titles and organize the report into sections.
Open Themes to select a predefined theme or add your own custom theme.
For how to configure a widget's data, chart type, and conditions, see Customize a dashboard widget.
Manage pages
Add pages as needed and reorder them so the report reads well.
Select the + icon at the top or bottom of an existing page to add a new page.
Select the Page Icon to see a list of all pages.
Drag and drop pages to reorder them, and rename pages as needed.
Download the report as PDF
Select Download at the top to download a PDF version of your report. Table widgets show only the first 100 records, and drill-downs are not available in the PDF.
PDF downloads exclude images and iframes for security reasons, while the email preview link includes them. For best results when embedding images, use JPEG or PNG — other formats may not render correctly depending on the browser and encoding.
Save, send, or schedule the report
Save the report, then send it once or schedule it to go out on a recurring basis.
Select Save.
Choose Send or Schedule.
Configure the schedule and delivery: set the Frequency (such as daily or weekly), the exact delivery Time, the Date Range of data to include, the Widget-Level Date Settings toggle, the Compare With comparison trends option, the Sender Email, the email Subject, the Recipients, and an optional email body.
Send a test email to check how the report will appear to recipients.
Select Save and Schedule to send the report automatically on your configured schedule.
When Widget-Level Date Settings is enabled, widgets with their own date ranges and comparisons keep those settings in the emailed report. Widget-level date settings can still differ from the report-level date range.
How saved values and emailed reports behave
Custom reports follow the same persistence logic as dashboards. Report-level date ranges and saved filter values persist after you save, and when the report creator selects Save, saved dropdown values update for users who access that report. You can set a report-level comparison date range for general widgets; if a widget has its own comparison date range, the widget-level setting overrides the report-level comparison.
Email sharing uses a snapshot of the report values at the time the email is generated. Sent emails keep the values that were active when the email was created, and later changes to the report do not update emails that were already sent.
Send reports to people without a login
Scheduled custom reports can be sent to any valid email address — recipients do not need a login. In the Schedule setup, add any valid email address under Recipients and they receive the report directly in their inbox. Use Custom Reports for this, not the Dashboard share link, because dashboard share links require authentication.
In email and PDF, table widgets still show only the first 100 records and do not provide drill-downs. To see the complete dataset or use drill-downs, the recipient needs to log in and open the report or dashboard directly.
