Analytics for external tracking
Track externally hosted websites and forms in the platform's Analytics area by installing a tracking script on the external pages, then reviewing the analytics dashboard. After the script is installed, the platform shows page views, form views, responses, completion rate, average time on page, and exit-before-30s bounce rate.
What external tracking reports
Once the tracking script is installed on external pages, the analytics dashboard reports page views, form views, responses, completion rate, Average Time on Page, and Exit Before 30s (bounce rate).
The dashboard offers a date range selector and daily line charts for Page Views, Form Views, Responses, and Completion Rate, with filters for Domains, Pages, and Forms. Audience and traffic breakdowns include device type (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile), top browsers, top client IPs (aggregated), country, state, and city. Form-level data shows Total Views, Responses, Completion Rate, and last updated timestamps.
Install the tracking script
Copy the script from the External Tracking area and paste it into the head of each external page you want to track.
Navigate to Sites > External Tracking.
Copy the provided tracking script.
Paste it into the head section of the external website or funnel pages.
Save and publish the external-site changes.
Open the external tracking analytics
Open the analytics dashboard once the script is connected. The External Tracking option is visible only when the script is connected.
Go to Sites > Analytics.
Open the Analytics dropdown.
Select External Tracking.
Alternatively, open the External Tracking modal and select Analytics to redirect to the analytics dashboard.
Verify tracking is working
Confirm the script is collecting data by generating activity and checking the dashboard.
Visit the external site to generate activity.
Return to the Analytics dashboard.
Confirm that page views and form views are populating.
How the metrics are counted
Form Views count form displays.
Responses count successful submissions.
Completion Rate is the percentage of users who submitted compared with total form views.
Exit Before 30s represents users who leave within 30 seconds and is described as bounce rate.
Limits and troubleshooting
If External Tracking is not visible, the script is not properly installed or connected.
Data may take a short, unspecified amount of time to appear.
Average Time on Page began tracking on January 20, 2026; earlier data is unavailable.
Multiple domains can be tracked if the script is installed on each domain.
