No. Each sub-account supports one connected Canva account. Uninstall the integration to connect a different account.
Connect Canva to Media Storage
The Canva integration connects one Canva account to a specific sub-account and adds a dedicated Canva view inside Media Storage, where you can browse designs, download exports, open supported designs in Canva, and import copies into My Media. Connect it from Media Storage by clicking Connect Canva.
What the Canva integration does
The integration links one Canva account to your sub-account and gives you a dedicated Canva view inside Media Storage. From that view you can:
Browse your Canva designs.
Download exports.
Open supported designs in Canva for editing.
Import copies into My Media.
Imported designs become independent assets, separate from your Canva account. It works alongside the other media integration: Connect Google Drive to Media Storage.
Connect Canva
Connect Canva when you want your organization's Canva designs available inside Media Storage.
Go to Media Storage.
Click Connect Canva.
Complete the Canva OAuth login in the new browser tab.
Click Allow.
Return to Media Storage; the Canva button displays Connected.
Select Canva from the My Media dropdown to view, edit, and import designs.
Edit Canva designs
Open a design in the Canva editor when you need to change it. Editing opens the Canva editor in a new browser tab, and whether you can edit depends on who installed Canva and on the design's file permissions.
Click the three dots at the top right of the design.
Click Edit in Canva.
Canva designs opened from the Canva view can be edited when permitted. Private Canva files cannot be edited. Non-installers see this message: "You have view-only access to this media. To make changes, import it into your own storage or reach out to your admin for access." Supported editable file types in My Media are PNG, JPG, and JPEG.
Download Canva designs
Download a design to save a copy outside JourneyCARE. One-page designs download as PNG, and multi-page designs download as PDF.
Click the Download button at the top right of the design.
Import Canva designs to the Media Library
Import a design when you want to use it elsewhere in JourneyCARE; designs must be imported before they can be used outside the Canva view.
Click the three dots at the top right of the design.
Click Import to Media Library.
Importing creates a new independent asset in My Media. The imported file is not linked to the original Canva design, so later changes in Canva do not update the imported copy, and you can import the same design multiple times. One-page designs import as PNG, and multi-page designs import as PDF.
Once imported, the asset works like any other media file — see Add and manage images, video, and media.
Who can access and edit Canva designs
Access depends on whether you installed the integration and on the Canva file's permissions.
Installer — the user who connected Canva has full edit access when the file allows editing and can import designs.
Other users in the same sub-account — can view, search, and browse Canva assets; download designs; and import designs into their own My Media. They cannot directly edit Canva designs (edit attempts are view-only) and cannot connect a different Canva account unless the integration is uninstalled.
Proxy users using Login As — do not have access.
Disconnect Canva
Remove the integration when you no longer want Canva designs in Media Storage or want to connect a different Canva account. Go to App Marketplace > Installed Apps > Canva and click Uninstall.
After disconnecting, OAuth access is revoked and Canva designs no longer appear in the Canva view. Previously imported files remain in Media Storage, and a different Canva account can be connected after uninstalling and reconnecting.
Canva integration limits
Canva is connected per sub-account, and each sub-account supports one connected Canva account.
One connected Canva account per sub-account.
Only the installer has direct edit access, because of Canva Marketplace constraints.
Imported assets are independent copies, not linked to the original design.
Supported editable file types are PNG, JPG, and JPEG.
One-page designs export and import as PNG; multi-page designs export and import as PDF.
Canva integration FAQs
Can I connect more than one Canva account?
Why can I only view, not edit, Canva designs?
Only the user who installed Canva has direct edit access, because of Canva Marketplace constraints. Other users see a view-only message and can import the design into their own My Media to make changes.
Do imported designs stay linked to the original Canva design?
No. Importing creates an independent asset, so later changes in Canva do not update the imported copy.
Will editing a My Media file create a duplicate Canva design?
No. JourneyCARE checks for an existing Canva design ID and reopens the same design rather than creating a duplicate.
Why does my design download or import as a PDF?
Multi-page designs export and import as PDF. One-page designs export and import as PNG.
What happens to my imported files after I uninstall Canva?
Previously imported files remain in Media Storage. Only the Canva view disappears, and OAuth access is revoked.
