Issue a certificate when a course is completed
Attach a certificate template to a course, and every new learner who completes it automatically receives the certificate by email. You attach the template from the course’s Certificates tab, and you can stop or revoke delivery at any time.
Attach a certificate to a course
Set up automatic certificates from the Certificates tab on the course, and each completion sends the certificate by email. Every new course also includes a Course Completion Certificate by default.
In the left navigation, open Portal and Groups, then Courses, then Products.
Choose the course you want to use.
Open the Certificates tab and click Attach.
Select the template to attach. The Category is selected as Course Completion by default.
Click Save.
After you save, all new learners of the course receive the certificate automatically by email each time they complete that course. Issued certificate details are available under Portal and Groups > Certificates.
Use the default course completion certificate
Every new course includes a default course completion certificate. Open its three-dot menu to attach a template, edit, or remove it.
Open the course and find the Course Completion Certificate section.
Open the three-dot menu on the certificate.
Choose Edit Certificate to edit the attached certificate, or Choose Certificate to attach a different certificate template.
To remove the default certificate, choose Delete Certificate from the same menu, or change its status from Published to Draft to keep it in place without issuing it.
Add a category completion certificate
Attach a certificate to a category, and it is issued when a learner completes the entire category.
Open the course and select the Category the certificate should be attached to.
Click the plus icon and choose Add Certificate.
Attach the certificate template.
The category certificate appears as the final lesson in the category preview and cannot be moved. Certificates are triggered only once the course or section is 100% complete.
Swap to a different template
Only one certificate can be attached for course completion at a time. To use a different template, edit the attachment and choose a new template, or delete the attached template and add a new one.
Stop automatic delivery
Mark the attached certificate inactive to stop sending it automatically after course completion. While a certificate is inactive for a course, certificates are not sent to learners when they complete it; delivery resumes when you mark it Active again.
Revoke a learner’s access
Revoke access to stop a specific learner from reaching a certificate they already received.
In the left navigation, go to Sites, then Portal and Groups, then Certificates.
Open Issued Certificates.
Click the three dots on the learner’s certificate.
Click Revoke Access.
Once access is revoked, the learner can no longer access previously sent certificates.
Share a certificate link
Learners can copy their certificate link and share it publicly.
