Yes. A gift card can be sold through multiple channels at the same time — its checkout link, QR code, embed code, and any existing checkouts. Inventory depletes as sales happen.
How to sell gift cards
You can sell gift cards in JourneyCARE four ways: share a gift card product's dedicated checkout link, embed that checkout on any website, print a QR code that opens it, or add the gift card as a product to your existing checkouts — forms, funnels, stores, payment links, invoices, and calendars. The same card can sell through several channels at once, and inventory depletes as sales happen.
Before you start
You need an active gift card product and a connected payment method before you can sell.
Create at least one Gift Card Product in Payments > Gift Cards > Create Gift Card and keep it active.
Connect a payment method so you can collect payments.
Test Mode vs Live Mode
Test Mode is a sandbox with its own checkout links and payment keys; Live Mode processes real transactions. Every gift card product has a separate checkout link for each mode.
Use Test Mode to simulate purchases, validate pricing and taxes, check inventory behavior, preview delivery messages, and test redemption.
Use Live Mode for real sales.
Gift cards purchased in Test Mode are redeemable only in test-mode checkouts. Live Mode cards are redeemable only in live-mode checkouts.
Sell with the dedicated checkout link
Every Gift Card Product has its own checkout link in both modes. Copy the Live Mode link to start selling.
In the left-hand menu, open Payments.
In the top ribbon, select Gift Cards.
On the gift card tile, click Sell.
Click Copy to copy the Live Mode Checkout Link.
For a test link, follow the same path and click Test Mode Checkout Link in the upper-right corner.
What buyers see on the checkout
On the checkout page, buyers pick a denomination, say who the card is for, choose delivery timing, and pay.
The buyer selects a denomination from the available values.
The buyer chooses Myself or Someone Else. For someone else, the checkout collects the recipient's name and email plus the sender's name and email; for yourself, it collects the buyer's name and email.
The buyer chooses Deliver Now or Schedule for later, with a delivery date (and time if shown) plus an optional message.
The buyer selects a payment method and clicks Pay, then can download the gift card.
When buying for someone else, the recipient receives the gift card by email at the chosen time — immediately or on the scheduled date.
A scheduled gift card is only sent later, but if its code is accessed and used on any checkout for redemption before then, it is redeemed anyway.
Embed the checkout on a website
You can place a gift card checkout on any external webpage without custom development — WordPress websites, HTML landing pages, blog pages, custom portals, and link-in-bio pages.
In the left-hand menu, open Payments.
In the top ribbon, select Gift Cards.
On the gift card tile, click Sell.
Click Copy to copy the embed code.
Paste the embed code into the external page.
Sell with a QR code
A QR code opens the same dedicated checkout link when scanned — useful for in-store displays, print campaigns, or any medium people can't click.
In the left-hand menu, open Payments.
In the top ribbon, select Gift Cards.
On the gift card tile, click QR Code.
Click Download to save the QR image, or click Share and then Copy to copy the QR code link.
Add gift cards to existing checkouts
Add the gift card as a product to checkouts your organization already uses. The card is delivered automatically once the payment succeeds.
Forms
Add the gift card to a form's checkout so buyers pay for it along with the rest of the form.
Open Sites > Forms and open or create a form.
Drag the Sell Products element (under Payments) onto the form.
Open the element settings and click Add Product.
Select the gift card.
Click Save.
Funnels
Buyers receive the gift card automatically after a successful payment through a funnel.
Open Sites > Funnels and open or create a funnel.
Drag a Form element into the page.
Select the form you set up for purchasing gift cards, or create one.
Publish the funnel.
Gift cards added to a test-mode funnel deliver test gift cards only.
Stores
Add the gift card to a store's product list so customers browse and buy it like any other item.
Open Sites > Stores and open or create a store.
Go to the Products tab.
Check the box next to the gift card.
In Bulk Actions, select Include in this store.
Payment Links
Create a payment link that sells a specific gift card.
Open Payments > Payment Links and create a new Payment Link.
Click Select a Product and choose the gift card.
Click Save.
Click Copy/Send to get the shareable link.
Invoices
Add gift cards to an invoice; once the invoice is paid, the card is delivered to the buyer.
Open Payments > Invoices & Estimates and open or create an invoice.
Under Add Products, select the gift card(s).
Click Send.
When the invoice is paid, the gift card is delivered to the buyer and a Gift Card Order is created automatically.
Calendars
Calendars sell gift cards only when they support product-based payments. Set up the purchase form first.
Create a form for purchasing gift cards.
In Calendar Settings, click Edit on the calendar.
Under Forms & Payments, use the Select Form dropdown to pick the form.
Under Payments, toggle on Accept Payments.
Click Save.
FAQ
Can I sell the same gift card in more than one place?
What happens if I deactivate a Gift Card Product?

Which payment providers can process gift card sales?
Gift cards can be sold through any of your default checkout payment providers. Redemption on all product types and scenarios works fully with Stripe, NMI, Authorize.net, and Square.
Can a gift card be used to buy another gift card?
No. Gift cards cannot be used to buy another gift card.
