Client portal dashboard
The client portal dashboard shows an overview of the members invited to and joined in your portal, and is where you copy the portal URL, generate magic links, invite members, and send login emails.
Open the dashboard
In the left navigation, go to Portal & Groups; you land on the client portal dashboard.
Client portal URL
The dashboard shows your client portal URL. Copy it and send it to members so they can log in.
The URL updates based on your custom domain selection.
Invited vs. joined members
The dashboard shows two counts of portal members.
Invited members: people invited to the portal with the invite action in the action menu.
Joined members: people who have actually joined the portal.
Actions on the dashboard
The action menu on the dashboard offers three ways to give members access to the portal.
Generate a magic link
Magic links let a member log in to the portal without entering credentials, which makes them useful in emails and messages. Links are generated per contact, and links generated from the dashboard are short-lived. If a member reports a link no longer works, they can recover access through the automatic One Time Password (OTP) fallback: opening the expired link redirects them to the OTP verification screen, an OTP is sent to their email address, and they enter the code to finish logging in. No setup is required, and they do not need a new magic link.
To build magic links inside workflow emails, use the custom values that automatically fetch the required data and construct the link. For the full generation steps, see Create a one-time login link.
Invite a member
Invite a new portal member by choosing an existing contact or entering an email address. The invitation is sent from your default domain.
Send a login email
The login email is an automatic email with a quick login button; the member logs in to the portal with one click, without entering a password. You can select multiple members and send them the login email together.
